HUMANITIES DEPARTMENT
One of the key directions of the NGO’s work is a humanitarian aid. It is driven by the global needs of the residents of Eastern Ukraine in basic necessities such as food, water, clothing, and winter warmth in their homes, as well as seeds for gardening in spring.
The organization operates in 5 regions: Kharkiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia regions, with identifying of three zones (lines) of support.
The first line of assistance consists of villages in the de-occupied/near-frontline areas and within a short distance from the active frontline. Many residents are forced to leave such villages (due to shelling) for relatively short distances to visit their homes more frequently, as they are concerned about the safety of their dwellings.
The second line includes a range of regions at a moderate distance from the frontline, where people still live/survive in difficult conditions, sometimes without electricity and gas. These are former frontline areas prior to de-occupation (Izyum, Borova, Barvenkovo, Sviatohirsk, Sloviansk, and others) with significant destruction of villages. However, people are returning to their damaged homes and starting the repairing process.
The third line consists of cities and villages significantly distant from the frontline, where internally displaced persons (IDPs) have settled, attempting to establish a new life.
We strive to provide assistance on an individual basis, identifying families in acute need with help of the volunteers, regional centers, and administrations. We assist those in need with food packages, bread, water, hygiene products, reading glasses, clothing, and footwear. During the winter period, we provide firewood for heating, and in spring, we supply the seed kits and vegetable seedlings for gardening.
Additionally, our NGO has a rapid response mobile team in case of events related to rocket explosions leading to critical destruction of buildings, when a large number of people urgently require assistance such as hot meals, warm clothing, materials for window repair, and more. The Humanitarian Department continuously monitors the situation to provide timely assistance to the population.
