Aid in Kharkiv

In Kharkiv, where the daily presence of conflict is deeply felt, there exists a place where people find peace and support — the assistance center of the ICF “Step with Hope.”

The center hosts many helpful and important activities.
For children, workshops and group games are organized, film screenings are held, followed by lively discussions. Here, they can forget, even if only for a few hours, everything happening around them, and experience joy and warmth.

“Katya, 11 years old. She lived with her parents in the KhAI district. From the first days of the full-scale invasion, they were forced to leave their home. They now live in Cherkasy. Whenever they come to Kharkiv, Katya eagerly attends the children’s meetings.”

For adults, psychological support is also offered. This is incredibly important — in times of war, people often struggle to cope with their own emotions, and these consultations help relieve, even if just a little, the burden.
It’s remarkable that up to 50 people attend these sessions.

Here, one can receive bread, which is so vital when living under such circumstances.

Additionally, every Saturday, the center organizes charitable lunches, which are especially valued by those who cannot afford to buy or cook food at home.

“My name is Angelica, I’m 24. Every Wednesday, bread is delivered to us, and I go to get some for myself and my neighbor. I am very grateful to the Foundation for this help for me and my son.”

The assistance center in Kharkiv is a place where people support one another. Here, everyone who comes can feel at least a little warmth and hope.
